Celebrating Arbor Day and World Environment Day

Our Kaiako and tamariki decided to make over our veggie garden this week and celebrate the awareness that β€œWe have #OnlyOneEarth. Let's take care of it.” πŸŒπŸŒ³πŸŒΏβ€οΈπŸ’•
Together, we planted some veggies and herbs in our garden! We have red and green lettuce, celery, thyme, rosemary, curry plant, and parsley! Our children enjoyed spending time in the garden growing their own food. πŸ₯¬ 🌱🌿
This experience engages all sorts of senses and helps children to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the confidence in using the tools.πŸ§€πŸ§‘πŸΌβ€πŸŒΎπŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŒΎπŸ‘¨πŸ½β€πŸŒΎπŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŒΎ
Gardening provides a great introduction to the environment around us, and our children get a better understanding of the role they play in taking care of our plants and our one and only PapatuΜ„aΜ„nuku! πŸŒβ€οΈπŸ’•
